7 years ago before StumbleUpon and Digg was around, I saw a video of a pack of wolves hunted down. Killed, dragged and cut for their fur.

What infuriated me was, when the pouchers started cutting up one of them, the poor animal was still alive and was yelping in pain.

Of course by the time I saw the video, the wolf was long gone. I was suddenly angry.

Then I remember reading a man's comment. He said,"You think this is bad? You haven't seen what corruption does!"

I asked for more information. He said that wolves and hyenas were killed in order to protect cattles.

I would have done the same if someone as much as tried to pull out my lovely hamsters' fur! lol I didn't think much of it and I thought the man's anger was all out of proportion.

Seven years later (now) as I think back, I wished I knew what I knew back then! The man's anger was justified because what I now know is a global concern that concerns not only you but also the future of our children....our descendants.

You see, close to 70% of the world’s crops (vegetables and fruits) feed animal jails (farms) reared for dead flesh (meat).

Hurting & Damaging our Environment

Disposal of animal waste which are NOT regulated by the FDA nor the American government has contributed to the DEAD ZONE where no marine
animal has been able to survive. See pics of the DEAD ZONE: http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/environment/dead_zone.html

Also, the Amazon forest gets de-forested to make way for land (to grow crops for animals reared for their meat)! Again, this is how we continually destroy what Mother Nature gives us.

Many of these changes are NOT reversible.

Hurting/Killing Insects

Pesticides used on crops (to feed farm animals) kill insects. It is anyone’s guess if pesticides are absorbed by vegetables, or if they are safe for consumption over the long run. (It’s now been proven that the mad cows’ disease mutated genes take as long as 4 to 5 years to.... mutate.)

Species of butterflies, beetles and insects are getting extinct everyday!!

Wasting Our Resources....like Water

Do you know that it takes 12,009 gallons of water used to make a pound of beef??

Water Required to produce one pound of California foods (according to Soil and Water Specialists, University of California Agricultural Extension, working with livestock farm advisors)

1 pound of lettuce
1 pound of tomatoes
1 pound of potatoes
1 pound of wheat
1 pound of carrots
1 pound of apples
1 pound of chicken
1 pound of pork

"Putting water use info into perspective (Source: http://www.vegsource.com/articles/factoids.htm )
If you shower each day for 7 minutes, using a shower with a flow rate of 2 gallons per minute, you are using 14 gallons of water per day (7 minutes x 2 gallons), or 98 gallons per week. Rounding that up to 100 gallons per week, in 52 weeks you would be using 5,200 gallons of water per year to take a daily shower.

Comparing 5,200 gallons of water used by taking a 7 minute shower every day for a year, to the 5,214 gallons of water it takes to produce a pound of beef (using the estimate noted by water specialists at the University of California, noted above), you realize that in California today, you can save more water by not eating a pound of beef than you will save by not showering for a year.

According to the calculations of the celebrated Dr. Pimentel of Cornell, you could go two years without a shower and still not save as much water as you would by not eating one pound of beef."

You may be saying WHY DIDN'T I hear of this before? That may be because you've been brainwashed by TV commercials advertising canned food and meat!

Hurting/Killing our Animals

Pets have been known to save their owners from fires or possible death from heart attacks. Everytime we pat our dog, cat, rabbit or iguana, our blood pressure normalises more. They are amazing natural stress-relievers.

Wild animals are usually intelligent enough to avoid any human contact unless provoked or they have their natural habitats and food removed. Angry elephanst have been known to hurt people in India because they carry memories of their parents bludgeoned to death.

Wild animal population like wolves, hyenas, etc are slowly declining because the big commercial animal farms view them as threats to their cattle. But yet these jailed animals have nowhere to run, no space to move, and no one to take their complaints to. Many are beaten up by frustrated underpaid overworked illegal immigrants (what we call "modern slaves").

Not only are wild and jailed animals suffering, non-free-ranging sick cows are jabbed with steroids and force-fed corn. The removal of their natural diet of grass results in many producing less-than-nutritious milk, etc. (A few health inspectors went vegetarian as a result of witnessing first-hand what went on in animal farms.)

Time and again our animals - both wild and farmed animals - are murdered (legally and illegally), for food, fur and profits. The very one to "profit" the most are big greedy corporations with no sense of ethics, respect to the animals they rear nor guilt.

Some species of animals are already extinct!

Are these what animal-lovers do?

Three states in the U.S.—Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Utah — still legally require that publicly funded shelters and pounds provide dogs and/or cats to institutions for experimental or educational purposes. And other states allow it. Several states have no law either way. In some states, the shelter cannot make animals available for adoption, but must instead provide them directly to the institution requesting animals. Source: Banpoundseizure.org

In other words, animal and dog pounds have NO CHOICE but to euthanise some animals, even healthy ones!

Euthanasia of animals is something I cannot really come to terms with. When an animal is brought into SPCA and is not adopted within a limited number of days, the animal will be euthanised. Imagine if that happened to children with no homes - would it make it right to euthanise children as well?

Euthanisia in shelters is a result of irresponsible animal breeding (either out of accident or over-breeding on purpose for intention of selling babies) and overpopulation.

The much healthier dogs tend to end up in some research and education facility for the purpose of conducting laboratory experiments.

Currently only donations and adoptions save some of these animals' lives.

Can you rightly call yourself an animal-lover if you eat meat? That's "food for some thought"!

Hurting Ourselves

....by Jeopardising Our Health!

Do you know that in 3rd world countries where those dying of hunger and malnutrition, heart diseases are unheard of?

Dead flesh (meat) in turn kill us by giving us diseases!

When we turn to a vegetarian diet, health problems like high blood pressure can be lowered. There will be lesser chance for global warming. There
will be lesser opportunity for land, animal destruction, etc.

The likelihood of our rivers drying will also be ‘zero’.

There have been cases of people recovering from terminal stages of cancer because they turned vegetarians. (Buddhists believe being vegetarians
can hlep save sinners’ from purgatory after death.)

....by Jeopardising Our Piggy Bank Accounts!

Do you know diabetis can now be reversed in 30 days just by having a sensible diet of greens and fruits? Isn't this something that is more affordable and much safer than prescription drugs that do not cure but only treat the symptoms of diseases?

This is something doctors won’t tell you because they have NOT been trained in disease prevention.

When we turn to the FREE sunshine, our bodies produce Vitamin D it needs to keep certain diseases away.

Good (better) health and prevention of diseases may well be within reach because the best 'doctor' is potentially INSIDE EACH ONE OF US until we destroy that as well!

The USDA gained the power to test for salmonella in raw meat and to shut down meat-packing plants that repeatedly failed E. coli O157:H7 tests.

As a vegan who enjoys prowling the local farmer's
market for new and delicious produce to cook up,
I've long been convinced that the way most
Americans interact with fruits and vegetables is
fundamentally problematic, and that Big Agribiz
is to blame....

We have an agri-culture that is not just unhealthy for humans
(pumped full of toxins), but unhealthy for the planet (those
toxins run off, and intsensive monoculture
planting strips top soil of its nutrients, turning
it into dust), unsustainable (highly dependent
on oil) and untasty (ever eaten a decent tomato
grown in a family farm?). But I always assumed
that the economics of agriculture in America
— with huge, super-efficient factory farming —
were unbeatable. It's just cheaper that way, and
in America that's the only justification you need.

This week The Washington Post told me I was wrong
...If you think the above assertions are typical
vegan hyperbole, read Michael Pollan's powerful
essay for The New York Times,
“The Vegetable-Industrial Complex”.

From: http://www.cropchoice.com/ leadstryagissues013107.html
Michael Pollan is the author of “The Omnivore's
Dilemma,” one of the best extensive examinations
of why an American diet is ultimately
unsustainable. As Pollan mentions, factory farming
no longer uses organic fertilizer (cow manure and
compost) to maintain the highly complex ecology
of nutrient-rich topsoil.

Instead, it relies on an energy-intensive process
of producing nitrogen-rich fertilizer from oil
and cattle feed from natural gas. It requires
about 10 calories of oil energy to produce every
calorie of corn grown in the United States.

Meanwhile the process, combining nitrogen with
toxic chemical weedkillers, is literally
destroying the soil that our food grows in.
The chemically-enhanced crops we grow in
monoculture, like corn, are sucking all the
nutrients out of the topsoil, turning it into
dust.

WARNING: Abuse Mother Nature and SHE will penalise you by robbing you of your good health!

Imagine a life where the world is saved because you have learned to love the animals and the earth we live on, and save the family farms that do not harm our animals/earth.

Once you get the vegetarian recipes online, there is no reason to believe they can’t be delicious! Start slowly if you wish! (Celebrities that are vegetarian includes Natalie Portman and Bill Cosby.)

Not too long ago, we’ve been programmed to love cigarettes and mercury fillings for teeth. Some movie directors were bribed by the Tobacco Association to feature smoking celebrities to give the image that smoking is “sexy”.

Are you still hoodwinked into believing you're in a safe world? It won't be unless you do something!

If something's not done, rivers and oceans will be dry. (Compare North Pole’s glaciers in 1999 and those you see now.) Is that the kind of world you want to leave to your children, grandchildren and their descendants?

Do what is right! Sign the global petition for FDA to be reviewed and reformed so that at least the dangerous foods and products do not get districbuted in USA and around the world! (No signature is unimportant!) ReformFDA.org

Currently NOTHING is done to prevent expired drugs from being dumped into our water resources. Harmful fluoride is still poured into our water-supply. FDA keeps mum about lead found in children’s face paint and cosmetics, etc.

Are there any more people who care about their own health? About YOUR health? About destruction of our land, water and sea?

The advertising industries will want you to believe that all you need to do to control your health or maintain your weight or bood pressure is to pop a pill. While they persuade Europeans to get tanned "safely", they tell Asians that it's unfashionable to be tanned.

Also, big pharmaceuticals will have you believe there's nothing to cure your high-blood pressure except their popular in high-demand prescription drugs.

Doctors are further encouraged to suggest more prescription medicines that may give you other side-effects, requiring you to pay for more other effects-neutralising prescription drugs. Ask them about nutrition from plants and fruits, and most of them will draw a blank.

While some argue that it's best to put greedy corporations and healthcare professionals out of their businesses, perhaps they need people to tell them to go into the "green income opportunities". Isn't it less messier to chop up vegetables than to chop up beef?

There’s nothing ‘Natural’ about “Modern Agriculture” or about Sacrificing Animals for our Gastronomic Desires!

Please help to re-build what Mother Nature provided us for free! Encourage others to earn their money MINDFULLY by not killing animals! Sign the global petition to keep our earth and children safe and happy ---> ReformFDA.org (Don't forget that going VEGETARIAN not only saves many things and animals, they greens and fruits boost your health naturally!)

The Campbell Foundation is initiating a new
project designed to chronicle the stories of
individuals who attribute their success in
arresting, reversing and/or living with serious
disease at least in part to the consumption of a
plant-based diet.

The project focuses on cancer, cardiovascular
disease, type 2 diabetes and MS , but is not
limited to them. Any account of treating disease
with diet is welcome.

All of Dr. Campbell's research points to the
benefits of a plant-based diet and the dangers of
the overconsumption of animal protein, including
red meat, pork, poultry, fish and dairy.
