Hey - it's good to see you again! :) If you see a short excerpt here and wish to read more, click on the Green Title for Full Story.

How to dump Diet Coke or Coke Zero (or any Soda Drinks) and Still Live This was blogged for addicts of soda drinks (I was one!)

[  Skip to Why Avoid Soda Drinks ::  Why you should JUICE ]

First of all, get a nice fruit juicer that can juice both vegetables and fruits.  It’s important to choose a low-speed juicer because you don’t want heat (caused by fast-moving parts) to greatly reduce your nutrients and antioxidants.  You should be able to get a good brand for under US$300 to US$350 (that’s under SG$760).

You may recycle pressed fibre (spelled as “fiber” for U.S.A English) as garden composite.  [ Aaron has an awesome article on garden composite. ]

Try to get organic fruits and vege.  Have some tumeric and ginger ready for juicing, seperate into 2 portions.

If unsure of what vegetables to juice, use parsley and celery or leafy vegetables.  Personally I like to add some leafy green lettuce, and half of a red pepper (capsicum) as a natural diabetes-prevention food.  (Diabetic sufferers should seek professional consultation with a naturopathic nutritionist before starting any new foods/drinks.)

Cut your fruits and vege to size that fits your juicer’s “nozzle”.

Juice the first portion of tumeric and ginger followed by the rest of the fruits and vege.  Juice second portion of your tumeric and ginger.  You do this to reduce free radicals from “attacking” live cells and nutrients in your fresh juice.

Drink!  You should taste some fizz in your drink.  Add more ginger for more fizz!  There’s zero side-effects from ingestion of ginger.

And stop drinking toxic fizzy drinks!

Why Avoid Soda Drinks

Methanol (10%) in fizzy drinks turns in formaldehyde.  In layman terms, formaldehyde is an embalming fluid not unlike the one used for embalming corpses.

Aspartic acid (40%) in fizzy drinks causes brain damage in unborn children.

Aspartame (artificial sugar) although zero-calories,  breaks down to 50% phenylalanine (PKU) – an excess of this causes brain damage.  Aspartame also makes you FAT by increasing your appetite a few folds!

Aspartame in some soda drinks, is the reason for “unexplained airplane crashes” (pilots are strictly forbidden to drink alcohol before flying, now many airlines ban pilots from drinking sodas before flying); sudden palpitations and death of young and fit joggers worldwide, etc.  Aspartame also causes fertility problems and threaten abortions (miscarriages).  One aspartame victim had a fit (seizure) so bad, his jawbone was dislocated and he became a mental vege.  [ Know more of aspartame via Dr. Jannet Hull :: via  Dr. Betty Martini's Independent Researchers: Publications and Statements on Aspartame ]

Aspartame is not labelled in many processed foods because there’s no law mandating it.

There’s really no excuse for not throwing out diet drinks and sodas that’s full of carbonated gas, phosphoric acid, sugar (or aspartame) and other toxic!

Tip:  Your carbonated milk and carbonated fruit juice won’t be of much difference to other fizzy sodas.

Why You Should Juice

Your commercial apple juice – unless properly processed and from organic farms – may contain nothing more than sugared water and apple extracts/flavouring or artificial flavouring.  Your commercial fruit juice does not even come close to your freshly-made DIY home-made juice.

“For the tiny amounts of vitamins in such drinks, it is just a marginally better than soda drink.” – Dr. Jonny Bowden

Tip: Apples are the most contaminated fruit, so get some organic!

Facts: Venezuela banned Coke Zero!   India banned Coke and Pepsi!
