1. Children given antibiotics before they are one run a higher risk of developing asthma. – http://www.Canada.com Avoid prescription antibiotics!
2. If you find questionable prescription drugs, antibiotics or inhaled steriods for asthma, you may need to seek an opinion from a holistic or homeopathic doctor.  (Refer to this story why I say most prescription drugs do not help asthma-sufferers.)
3. Do you know that asthma medications in powdered forms are more acidic than aerosol versions?  The enamel of your teeth begin to dissolve at a pH of 5.5.  The acididic level is lesser is 5.  (Similarly, cancerous cells thrive anywhere in the body where environments are acidic.)  You may wish to avoid powdered formulations of asthma medications which are too acidic for teeth’s enamel.
4. Reduce or get rid of margarine and polyunsaturated fats (these contribute to asthma).  Margarine is afterall, vegetable oil blasted with hydrogen gas ie. margarine is trans-fat.   [ Misconception between butter and margarine (which is healthier?) ]
5. Flu vaccine causes asthma in infants.   Children who get the Flu Vaccine have 3 times risk of hospitalization.   Find out all you can about what’s in modern vaccines!  Let your Minister of Health know!     [   True-life HEART-BREAKING story:  What happened to Ian after his first vaccine.   ]
6. Avoid chlorinated swimming pools (refer to #6 of above) – talk to the committee of your condominium to let them know of your concern.  Your country may have laws stating that public swim pool must be chlorinated – write to your senators, twon councils, congress, nominated statesmen, etc.
7. While omega-3 is important, there’s a whole world of difference in eating contaminated fish and uncontaminated fish.  The younger fish is, the less likely for it to be contaminated with mercury.  Ie.  Avoid “older” fish which are more likely to have a higher level of toxic mercury.
8. Some household cleaning detergents are toxic to children.  If you really need to keep your house clean, go for non-chemical cleaners.  Lemon and lime-juice squeezed into plain water is not only a germ-killer, but can keep your floor squeaky clean.  (If in doubt, call on a professional cleaner who can also advise on control of house mites – another thing that can trigger asthma in children.)
9. Temporarily avoid anything that may cause an allergic reaction (allergies may not be limited to these):
   –>  food additives (artificial flavouring, “improved” emulsifier, etc)
   –>  chemical/natural odours (paint fumes, nail polisher, kerosene, wood burning etc)
   –>  coal smoke (barbeque)
   –>  wine
   –>  chemical air fresheners
   —> cologne/perfumes (many of these have chemicals)
10. And definitely – do not smoke around asthmatic people.  Asthma sufferers should not be smoking nor should they be breathing in “second-hand smoke”.

That looks more than 10 things to avoid/reduce!  lol  In closing, I am very skeptical whenever someone says that an intra-nasal flu vaccine is as safe (or more effective as) than an injectable vaccine, regardless of whether it’s for an asthma sufferer or not!
