A What’s Twitter? Tweet/Search a Job!

  1. TweetJobSearch Although many of the job tweets are now currently from the USA and Canada, Twitter members can tweet jobs from anywhere in the  world.  Just be sure to post the #COUNTRY hashtag so people know.
  2. TweepJob is a free service that uses #hashtags to help track messages on Twitter.  If you are looking for a job or freelance gig then just send a twit about what you’re looking for and add the #tweepseek hashtag in your tweet.Employees looking to fill a position can use the hashtag #tweephunt.
    TweepJob tracks tweets based on these hashtags to let you know what
    others are looking for.  This free service is courtesy of TweepJob (follow to get updates!)
  3. JobMotel is a web developer’s haven
    for jobs.
  4. TwitHire is a place for both Designers and Web Programmers to seek out assignments and jobs.
  5. Nearbytweets, Twitterjobcast,Indeed
    and SimplyHired by keywords, and
    geographic location or area.
  6. TweetBeep allows you to set up email alerts for jobs, links and keywords/hashtags. Alerts come either
    on a daily or hourly basis as you choose.
  7. @Jobangels is not a
    Twitter tool but follow her, and go to Twitter Search for the phrase
    #jobangels to identify opportunities.
  8. Although not exactly a Job Search Tool, a Twitter-linkable
    resume
    may be what you want.

Twitter Directories

1. GeoFollow You can add yourself to this directory by sending a tweet to GeoFollow Eg. @Geofollow XXX Street (and State if necessary), Singapore, #health #vegetarian #pets #compassion #eco-friendly #myths.

2. TweeplePage is a user-powered directory of Twitter members organized by their interests.

3. TweetFind is perhaps the newest Twitter directory to join the Internet. Here, you can
place your Twitter profile like a free Yellow Pages listing. :)

4. Twellow (was mentioned in my previous blog but worth a re-mention) is a directory of Twitter members categorized into hundreds of fields of interest! If you don’t see a category to fit in you can create a new category.

give it away, sell it, auction it, place it on your membership website…whatever):

You need your own image editor like Gimp
or Adobe Photoshop to edit and then, upload your background picture to your Twitter profile.

Use a file decompressor like 7-zip to view and extract your free twitter images.

1. WhoShouldiFollow? recommends
interesting people to follow based on your network. Also, it supports
searching for a location and adjusting for popularity.

2. MrTweet works similiarly to WhoShouldiFollow
and has great testimonials from happy users.

3. Twubble recommends
new people to follow based on who you’re following.

4. Twitterlocal allows you to follow tweets made from a geographical location of your choice.

Search for Twitter Members

1. TweeterLookup is the easiest way to look-up mutiple Twitter member names without having to manually type them out (draws email addresses directly from your email accounts).

2. FreeSearch
allows you to find your friends more easily in Twitter. Simply
follow @FreeSearch and tweet him @FreeSearch Kawasaki . Within a minute or so, you will have a list of Twitter member whose first or last name is Kawasaki.

3. TweepSearch allows you to search for people and their bios (self-introduction) of your followers.

4. TweetScan run by David Sterry, allows you to search public messages and user profiles,
find replies or track keywords (hashtags). You can sign up for daily or weekly email alerts

5.FuelFrog If you drive, this tool may be made for you! Keep a log of your fuel and mileage; compare your mileage with others in your area, or with the same car.
6.Twollo allows you to
auto-follow people based on your chosen keywords. So it’s now possible to follow those who are say “golfers”.
7.Twiveaway allows you to set up your own Twitter Giveaway Contest.
Set the rules and deadline of your contests, set up instructions
of prize-retrieval (for the winners), congratulatory message for winners, etc.

Everything on complete auto-pilot except you’d have to find sponsors for the prizes.

This is one of the niftiest tool for those who’d like to
add some fun and cheer to Twitterverse. For those who are
somewhat obsessed with the number of friends/followers you get on Twitterverse, this nifty tool has the potential to boost your Twitter followers’ “count”.

8.FutureTweets and TweetLater are free services that lets you schedule your future Twitter messages.
It allows your messages to be sent out to your followers (as
DMs) even when you’re on a vacation.
9.Song.ly works this way:
type in a song title or mp3 link, and tweet it. Your followers will get a short link to a page allowing them to play and listen to the song.  No downloads and no extra stuff to download.
10.Foodfeed.us allows you to find people and tweets by ingredient keywords at Foodfeed
11.Are you Tweeting Too Hard? This fun website allows you to send interesting quotes or statements to this website. The more BACK PATS a tweet gets, the more popular (and isible) it is.

allows you to temporarily block out tweets from people whom
you are following (without having to unfollow the person).

This is useful if you are receiving tweets on your mobile
phone and you don’t want to be disturbed without also disabling

Twifish is not your normal Twitter Search tool, it searches for synonyms and phrases
tweeted
within the Twitterverse.

Twithelp.me works similiarly to TweetRSVP and allows you to set up RSS feeds within its site to help other find your tweets that have questions.

Faroo – is a peer-to-peer search engine integrating Twitter search to discover discussions and people related to the query. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that
it also allows you to encrypt search queries is your queries are censor-resistant. (Now I am thinking #@!#@!!) Has a user forum as
well!

MicroPlaza (Tribal News Search)  searches hot links shared on Twitter and displays trending topics (topic that are discussed  /most frequently tweeted) of the people you have chosen to follow.

Tweeple of India Self-explainatory.

Navgle.com gives you search results including results from AskPedia, GroupAsk, LoveAdvice and QAfind which is powered by Google Search Services.

TwiST has an useful easy-to-use interface to Twitter Search and a URL-shortener:

TweetBeeps works like Google alerts but for Twitter.  Your keyword and domain link searches are sent to your email inbox. This free service is provided by @Mdjensen.

20.TweetSpinner is not just a Twitter Tool (free service) that allows you to schedule automatic follows or purges (unfollowing). You can stop worrying
about unfollowing unfollowers by mistake. No more unfollowing

Twitter’s Real-Time Search (only
displays what’s being tweeted ‘as of this moment’ or ‘NOW’)

1. TweetRSVP
pulls tweets that include a question or request for information
in real time.  Visitors can reply or RSVP to a tweet directly
from Twitter, or by copying and pasting via a desktop client tool.

2. TwitterPray shows you
real time snapshots of what people are praying about on Twitter,
and what people are requesting for prayer.  Trending, history, and request tracking (among other features) are slated to be added in the
near future.

3. Terraminds is an online micro-search tool that shows the entire public timeline in real -time. It’s fast and responsive due to its new
twitter search API
(for twitter apps developers). This site
is sometimes not available.

4. Twazzup organizes search results so you can quickly turn the buzz on twitter into useful
information. Search results include related keywords and hashtags,
trendmakers along with popular tweets, twittpics and links.

As of this writing (May 8th 2009), Wolverine is the most talked-about
movie on Twitter. And Swine Flu beats “Influenza A” searches
as well!

5. PopularTweets allows you to browse the current top 10 most popular tweets,  re-tweets,
friends and followers on Twitter in real time.

6. Tweetactive allows you to see how active your friends (followers) in real time, and
to compare activeness of keywords used. You can also view continious
stream of tweets from the Twitterverse based on keywords or hashtags.

7. Summize is real-time Twitter
search with language restriction and built-in threading (easier on the eyes). Free API included for Twitter developers.

8. TwitterTroll is a real-time Twitter search engine that searches through thousands
of indexed tweets.

9. Android is where you can watch realtime tweets about Google Android phone (with database with older tweets). There’s also a section where software links can be submitted. This website looks good and can do better with
a clear FAQ.

10. Twitterment
(beta) combines Twitter apps with a search engine and graphing tools.  (It’s so new the website may have some problems loading. If so,
check back later!)

11. TwitterSearch is complete
with toy  dude-heads. Also maps posts via Twittermap!

12. Top News Trends combines Google Trends’ data with Twitter’s data
search.
