I keep getting requests to do up girly themes/templates for Blogspot bloggers
but the fact is – I can’t. For starters, I am not a Rockstar Designer. lol (Blogspot.com (BLOGGER) does not allow running of the free Wordpress script; you would need a webhost and a domain (usually you’d have to pay for both) from a seperate domain registrar. If you have your own .com or domain and are somewhat familiar with setting up your own WP theme but don’t want a too generic-looking wordpress theme, consider themes like those like “I scream for ice cream” theme (Premium) or the Gorilla-inspired theme (premium). <— Watch out for the creators of these great themes – they LISTENED when people requested for more cheerful premium themes to be made!

If you’re not ready to self-host your own blog, you can spruce up your blog with simple graphics. I dig almost anything pink and girly so I often stop by girly sites and blogs. Here are some girly samples from Pink Pixels:

Bloggers always ask: Why should I pay for Premium Themes?
Cos you don’t need to worry your blog does not work when you upgrade your Wordpress (which is always improving to fix security bugs etc)! And best of all, your blog stands a much reduced chance of looking like another one of those “freely-hosted” blogs.
Other things for ‘design inspiration’ and to make your blog stand out?
I love looking at interior design blogs and art farty blogs. They boost whatever creativity that’s left of my brain cells! lol Inspired by what I see on other sites I create silly things like this animated Valentine eCard for my Twitwall visitors:
Out of fun I made a few girly mock-ups for some Twitter friends. I also received one very lovely illustration from a Twitter friend (who wanted to remain anonymous) – another source of “Design Inspiration”!:
Well…may be time for me to allocate a “time block” to fix my blog’s messy footer!!

Why pay for a premium theme? Cos a properly coded theme plus good keywords is fantastic for SEO purpose. Plus you get support and not have to worry about theme not working.
