9 News or Feed Readers & 3 RSS Directories/Search Engines to Use for RSS Publishing/Marketing

9 News or Feed Readers & 3 RSS Directories/Search Engines to Use for RSS Publishing/Marketing…  I feel that the easiest way to get started with RSS marketing (or RSS publishing) is to get your own RSS Feed Reader (aka News Aggregator) and subscribing to other websites’ RSS feeds.  You should be able to observe and understand how it all works.  So simply choose a feed reader, visit some websites and start subscribing to their RSS feeds.  There’s a variety of RSS Feed Readers to choose from.  Here’s just a small sample:

a) Web-based (websites):
http://my.yahoo.com
http://www.pluck.com
http://www.newsgator.com
http://www.bloglines.com

b) Desktop-based (software):
http://www.awasu.com
http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon
http://www.stevenwood.org/stories/2003/06/08/voxLite.htm

c) Integrated types (integrate with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox or Microsoft Outlook):
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ (browser with integrated RSS features)
http://www.newsgator.com
http://www.pluck.com
http://www.attensa.com/index.php?ys=1

Of course, you don’t need to use all.  Picking one is sufficient.

If you want to find more RSS feeds to subscribe to or to add to your blog (for self-updating content in your chosen category or theme), use an RSS Feed Search engine or RSS Feed Directories like Feedster , ChorData RSS Directory and Bloggeries RSS Directory.

The FeedBurner FeedSmith plugin is popular with self-hosted Wordpress-powered blogs.  I will return to post more on this after some more thorough research on this!

There’s a new RSS reader out that’s easier to use than the old ones, I use it almost everyday. http://www.realsimplenewsreader.com

Hey Mike! Thank you for the addition! Much appreciation! “Multiple brains” are always better than just one (mine)!
