I do agree with you that YA has better personal functionality than Skype and you are spot on why Skype is popular, it's built in functions. Some would also say that Skype became popular because of it's key to fame, it was one of the first to offer video conferencing at a much better quality than most of other popular services. MSN's video a few years back wasn't that good. I use Skype for video conferencing with my family when I am overseas and also sometimes for work. I prefer MSN over Yahoo messenger though, just for the reason most of my friends use MSN. Yahoo is popular too and great to use, but I started not using it when I keep giving strange invites from people I do not know, I guess they used the yahoo user search function rather efficiently, lolz.
