Received a party invitation a few days ago and I thought it might be good to share the invite since it overrides cultures, race, religion, nationalities, marital status, sexual orientation, age and residential status! Yes – you’re invited!
December 10th 2008 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). To commemorate this momentous event, U60 will be holding and supporting a series of events from late November to early December.
I love parties and I hope to attend! Join in the party here!
I’ve seen a couple of activism that didn’t quite work out. Eg. there’s PETA protest against killing of cute chickens, more accurately against KFC. It woulda worked better if they informed the public that anything deepfried – even if it’s the best potatoes for french fries and even if it’s the healthiest organic and the most tender and delicious kind of chicken meat you can get – is in fact unhealthy. Baking and steaming is a healthier cooking alternative.
I’ve also seen a couple of activism programmes that worked. One of them involved rescueing stray cats and kittens from being bashed up in public/private. It may be a small ‘action” but sometimes small actions creates big reactions.
